Workshops, Coachings and Moderation

Equal Opportunity Officers & HR

Your role as Equal Opportunity Officer and HR manager is to design gender-responsive programmes for female students and academics and to empower their personal and career advancement. I support your organisation with workshops and (group) coaching sessions that address specific challenges faced by women in science.

Within both formats, we examine the gendered dimensions of networking and leadership, both with and without supervisory responsibilities, as well as self-management and career progression within and outside academia. I am happy to collaborate with you to develop additional focus areas tailored to your needs. I also assist teams and working groups by facilitating closed meetings and supporting team development.

Workshops

My workshops are designed for women in science, focusing on the specific challenges they face within the academic system. Together, we work on career development, taking on leadership roles, and building sustainable networks.

In addition, I offer workshops on self-management and wellbeing, drawing on my background in Positive Psychology. These themes are particularly relevant in the face of the high workload and considerable demands of academic life.

The workshops are not only about developing individual strategies, but also about addressing structural hurdles, unspoken expectations, and the institutional dynamics of the academic world. The goal is to make opportunities for action visible, strengthen self-efficacy, and support women in shaping their careers consciously and independently.

I place strong emphasis on the experiences of the participants, using the workshops as a space for networking, mutual support, and the creation of more sustainable, long-lasting structures.

Individual Coachings and Group Coachings

‘I Think I Can!’ – This evidence-based group coaching programme was created during my studies in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. It is designed for doctoral students and postdocs and draws on models and interventions from positive psychology to strengthen participants’ career self-efficacy. The topics range from effective communication and the impostor phenomenon to recognising and applying one’s own strengths. Particularly valuable are the “collective intelligence” of the group and the insights participants gain from working together.

Individual coaching sessions are available at all hierarchical levels and are tailored to the needs of both the client and the commissioning organisation. Common themes include relationships with supervisors, self- and stress management, and career development within and beyond academia.

Moderation

Researchers already work autonomously and in a self-organised way within their projects. However, when new teams are formed, or existing groups welcome new members, they frequently face the challenge of creating structure and developing effective ways of working together. With my support, these questions can be addressed in retreats, team development workshops, and group coaching sessions: Where do we, as a research or project group, want to go? What is our goal? How do we become a genuine team?

In addition, I offer gender-sensitive workshops for mixed-gender departments, research groups, and project teams.
